Monday- Baaa by David MacAuley Students will work with partners to read and respond to this allegory which includes the topics/issues such as overpopulation, natural resource depletion, social class, and consumption
by depicting sheep evolving to a point of self destruction. Students will need to use their inference skills to determine how the book ends! HW: Baaa responses due by Thursday (They will need to get a copy of the book on Tuesday as needed)
Tuesday- Review of Civil War and its impacts- reading and discussion
Wednesday What Price Freedom? Video on Reconstruction Era/ guided questions (good for building on listening skills)
Thursday- Chapter 17 Reconstruction Section One Rebuilding the South Students will be learning how to use Cornell-style notes (Teacher will use modeled notes for this first section which will be done as a whole class) If section one is not finished, students are responsible for completing independently.
Friday/Monday - Computer Lab Registration of books for online access. Assignment: Lincoln Assassination Plot and Conspiracy Theories- Students will be researching the facts behind Lincoln's assassination as well as some of the conspiracy theories regarding his death. Any additional time should be used for playing the online states game to study for the states test the week of 9/22. The packet should be turned in by the end of next week. Students have study halls, after school time, or they may elect to work from home using the links on this web site to complete this as needed.
