HW (if applicable)- students may retake the states test by next Monday during SH or

Tuesday-Computer Lab: Using a Prezi presentation template, "Closing the Deal", students must answer the following question: Was Reconstruction a success or a failure? They will have the opportunity to choose one of four people who will answer that question from their point of view.

Monday Constructing the Transcontinental Railroad. Students will watch a video on the challenges of constructing a railroad that will connect the East and West Coasts. During the film, they are to be taking notes on the various challenges to be overcome.
Last day to re-take the states test to boost your grade!
Tuesday- Finish video Brainstorm categorizing challenges and review components of a good thematic essay
Wednesday- Students will have the class period to write a thematic essay: Explain three challenges that were faced by the Central and Pacific Railroads during the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad. This is a test grade and is due by the end of class tomorrow
Thursday- Time to work on finishing up essay as needed/CNN Student News
CW/HW: Miners, Homesteaders, and Cattlemen Reading and Questions due by next Wednesday

Thursday- States test- Students must be able to locate and identify any of the 35 out of fifty states/CNN Student News
Chapter Note packets will be checked off for completeness today (counts 3x) No late packets accepted.
Friday- Info on Prezi project in computer lab next Monday through Wednesday (this will count as the chapter test) Computer lab Monday-Wednesday next week. Brainstorm the answer to this question: Was Reconstruction a success or a failure? Students will be answering this question from the POV of a person from this period (four choices to choose from).
NOTE: This Friday is the last day that any homework from chapter 17, Reconstruction, will be accepted.

Monday- computer lab. Finishing up the conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Remaining time should be to practice for the states test on-line This worksheet on Conspiracy theories/assassination is due no later than Friday if you have not yet completed while we were in the lab.
Tuesday- Continue with notes using Cornell style format- should finish section one.
HW: The "I" Word worksheet - due Thursday
Wednesday-" Humpty Dumpty", Notes continued.
Thursday- Notes continued in section two and read and respond to Jourdan Anderson letter /questions in packet. Students should be finished section two by today. If not, this should be considered independent work outside of class. Students should know and be able to explain vocabulary words from first two sections.
